Product Description
This knurled rivet is used primarily on external metal surfaces where good appearance and the elimination of unnecessary aerodynamic drag are important. The rivet takes advantage of a countersink hole; they are also commonly referred to as countersunk rivets. It is used for furniture, like sofa.
Knurled rivet nut inserts add threads to materials that are too thin to tap. They have knurls along theoutside diameter that grip the workpiece and provide exceptional torque strength. Knurled rivet nutinserts are commonly used in blind-hole applications.
A rivet is a permanent mechanical fastener. Beforebeing installed, a rivet consists of a smooth cylindricalshaft with a head on one end. The end opposite thehead is called the tail. On installation the rivet isplaced in a punched or drilled hole, and the tail isupset, or bucked (i.e., deformed), so that it expandsto about 1.5 times the original shaft diameter, holdingthe rivet in place
